                                                 The R&D Process of  Winleather

Who invents the wineleather?

It is the Italian Tessitore .

First, of course, it is necessary to determine what is used as the raw material of new environment-friendly leather.

Tessitore has cooperated with several research centers such as the University of Florence and Milan University of Technology to repeatedly analyze and compare the properties and processing possibilities of various plant fibers. Finally, they chose grape skins and grape seeds.

Later, after several experiments, they finally developed a new production process, which can effectively combine the fiber in grape skin and grape seed with natural oil to produce a pure vegetable environment-friendly leather with leather texture - Wineleather.

Italy is the world's largest wine producer, with about 18% of the world's wine produced in Italy. This means that Italy has millions of tons of grape residue every year.

Tessitore tried to get in touch with several wineries. To his surprise, the wineries responded very warmly to the use of grape skins as leather and expressed their willingness to cooperate. In addition, they provided grape pomace for Tessitore to use for free.

Everything is ready.

In January 2016, Tessitore established a company, named VEGEA, specializing in the production of innovative vegetable leather. He himself served as CEO and registered patents for all production processes of Wineleater.

It took three years from R&D to production. The first batch of grape leather made from organic grapes finally came out in luxury!

So far, the entire R&D cost 200000 euros.
