What protection does boxing gloves provide?
Oct 15, 2021
Modern boxing still causes brain damage, but the chance of a concussion is not as great as before.
You might think that the padding of the glove simply reduces the sudden impact from the fist to the opponent's head, but it is not that simple.
Think about it-if no one is unprotected with their hands, you would not use your full strength to hit the wall (or something like that)
Now, if you know that your hands are well protected, how hard will you fight?
Obviously more strength can be used, and the principle is the same in boxing matches.
The protection provided by boxing gloves means that it is easier to hit with full force, which means that the risk of concussion and brain injury may be higher.
However, due to the increasing importance of rules and protective gear, boxers from the "golden age" of this sport are now suffering from severe mental illness and permanent brain damage.
Fortunately, we are now more aware of the importance of boxing gloves protection and the importance of standardized production of boxing gloves.
